Some notes on the numerous weapons in the game for lesser experienced players.

Melee
- Of all the beginner weapons without a melee requirement, the Chef knife deals the highest DPS.
- All blunts before and including the Crowbar don't have a Very High Critical Chance, only a High Critical Chance.
- All knives and blades have a Very High Critical Chance.
- Technically there's no reason for the Hunting Knife to have a 5 melee proficiency; you start with 5 to begin with.
- The Titanium Blades are the only melee weapons that can hit a target twice per second.
- There are some weapons that will deal a higher DPS than others with more required proficiency. Such include the following:
  • Golf Club / Combat Knife
  • Bowie Knife, Iron Pipe / Nail Bat

Pistols
- All Pistols that use .32, 9mm, or .40 deal the same DPS per their respective calibers, the only difference amongst them is the ammo capacity and proficiency requirement. There are also no revolvers that use these calibers.
- The Alpha Bull is the first revolver type pistol that deals more DPS than at least 1 semi-automatic pistol that uses the same ammo.
- As you go down list of revolvers, the ammo capacity increases by 1 until the Alpha Bull.
- All normal revolvers have a Slow Reload Speed, only the Corpse Shooter and Dusk Enforcer have faster reloading speeds.

Rifles
- The lowest proficiency requirement for a rifle that fires 1.5 times per second is 75, which allows use of the SIC 550.
- All rifles that use 7.5mm (with the exception of the M24 and Dragon SVD) deal the same DPS, the only difference amongst them is the ammo capacity and proficiency requirement.
- There are only 4 rifles that use 5.5mm, 7 rifles that use 7.5mm, and 2 rifles that use 9mm.
- There are only 3 rifles that use 12.7mm, and they are all Long Range rifles that are very accurate but fire slowly.
- The only rifle that has a Very High Critical Chance is the epic 577 Rex.
- The Dusk Carbine is the only rifle to have a Fast Reload Speed; all other rifles have a Slow Reload Speed

Shotguns
- There are only 2 shotguns that use 20 Gauge and 16 Gauge, with the Sega-20 dealing the most DPS amongst them.
- All 12 Gauge shotguns up to the Mannberg 500 deal the same DPS (53.4), the only difference amongst them is the ammo capacity and proficiency requirement.
- The only difference between the Mannberg 500 and the Sweeper is that the Sweeper fires 0.5 hits per second more than the Mannberg 500.
- The only shotgun that has a Fast Reload Speed is the Dusk Striker; all other shotguns have a Slow Reload Speed.
- The AA-12 fires 2 more pellets per shot than the USAN-12, but the pellets from the USAN-12 deal more damage.

Machine Guns
- The first SMG, the Skorpion, is the only MG that cannot deal a critical hit.
- The Uzi and the FM P90 deal the same DPS, even though they use different calibers.
- All Assault Rifles that use 5.5mm deal the same DPS, the only difference is the ammo capacity and proficiency requirement.
- The FM Mitrail and the Dusk MAG are the only HMGs that use their respective calibers; there are 2 HMGs that use 7.5mm.
- The reload speeds of HMGs differ depending on the caliber; 5.5mm - Slow, 7.5mm - Very Slow, 12.7mm - Fast

Explosives
- All grenade launchers deal the same DPH except the HK69 and PAW-20
- The M79, GM94, RG6, and Falcon-MM1 all deal the same DPS, the only difference is the ammo capacity and proficiency requirement (and in the case of the M79, the reload speed)

General Notes on Weapons Empty The Lv 15 Arena

Post by Kulon Fri 12 Oct 2012, 04:25

For PVP in the lower level arena, the level is too low to consider using epic weapons. Stat-wise, there's not a lot to work with and it can get complicated when choosing the best build. The most popular weapons include the Sega-20, Mannberg 500, XM8, Rebellion, and Titanium Blades.

Sega-20
The cheapest weapon amongst the 4 listed above, this weapon is one of the best weapons for the lower class. The cheapness of using 20 Gauge combined with the fact that it fires quite fast (best non-12 Gauge shotgun) and it has low requirements to use it makes it a decent weapon.

Mannberg 500
The power of the Mannberg is really something to keep in mind, as it's the most powerful shotgun available to lv 15s who are not a Police Officer class. Those who are can benefit from using the Sweeper, which is identical to the Mannberg aside from the fact that it fires 2 shots per second compared to the Mannberg's 1.5 shots per second. Because of the strength requirement, it's also possible to use stronger armors at the cost of having no other benefit.

XM8
Assault Rifles are more popular than SMGs for the fact that ARs deal a solid base damage of at least 90 DPS without relying on critical hit, something that SMGs depend on to the max. At such a low level, expecting maximum performance of a SMG is simply not possible without sacrificing something else. Either that'll make you slower or more vulnerable means it's a sacrifice that's simply not worth it. The XM8 being more popular due to its large clip capacity and still using the cheaper 5.5mm round. For those who choose to go with the Soldier class, they can benefit from the AK 47, keeping in mind that it uses the more expensive 7.5mm round. Low accuracy with these weapons leaves little effectiveness at long range, forcing high agility to be a crucial stat in order to keep fighting at close range.

Rebellion
The most popular weapon for the low levels primarily for its DPS at such a low requirement (40 rifle proficiency). However, keeping in mind that the Rebellion requires the 88 crit build in order to maximize power, this can be quite stat costly if it's to be considered. The Rebellion is a short distance rifle, meaning it fires faster than long range snipers by sacrificing accuracy. That being said, using this rifle can be quite demanding. The MSG-9 is the best long range sniper for the lower class as it demands less accuracy stats to work with, on the downside of dealing less DPS.

Titanium Blades
The most versatile melee in the game simply because of this weapon's zero melee requirement while dealing competitive DPS. However, theoretically this is not the same as in practice. In my personal experience in PVP, the TBs tend to be less effective than the Katana/Battle Axe because it swings twice to deal the same DPS. The upside is that you have a higher chance to hit your moving target but the downside is that because you swing more there's more chances that your slashes won't deal a critical hit. If you're using a Katana (in theory), it would only take 1 hit to deal that massive amount of damage. However with TBs you need to ensure that both of your hits are critical hits to deal the same DPS. Of course, there's also that chance that the slower melee will fail to deal a critical hit in the first swing. But if both weapons deal a critical hit on the first swing, that moment of impact can determine who survives and who dies as the TBs user may not even live long enough for that second swing.

Rifle vs Shotgun
MGs are not considered because of their low accuracy. Because of the way the game is designed, even low end shotguns like the Sega-20 can be competitive to the Rebellion. Here's why. Because of how many stats the Rebellion needs to deal its DPS, the remaining stats aren't enough to provide any major improvement to any other factors. Therefore it's easy for a player with high speed and a Mannberg or Sega to simply rush up to the sniper and deal their DPS while the sniper has less speed to run away and keep a good distance. The spread of the pellets also means the chance to hit the target is higher. Against a sniper who spent so much into critical hit (and possibly accuracy), that's good enough as snipers at low levels may not have such high defensive capabilities. From personal experience with a Rebellion, I've had trouble against shotgun users as I was guaranteed to be slower and if I wasn't prepared I'd probably be dying more than I'd think.

General Notes on Weapons Empty Pistol or Rifle?

Post by Kulon Fri 12 Oct 2012, 04:25

Both weapons are very similar to each other, but they're not the same and depending on which you choose can have an impact on what you'll experience.

PistolsRifles
Faster firing rates Slower firing rates
Larger ammo boxesSmaller ammo boxes
Less proficiency (you start with +5) More proficiency needed (you start with 0)
Less accurate More accurate

Rifles will also be more expensive to use than pistols unless you manage to get a VSS or Rebellion. Both categories will have more weapons that require 88 crit compared to 56 crit (5 Pistols, 2 Rifles). That being said, pistols (revolvers) work well for strength and hybrid builds as they share the need for accuracy. Rifles however, are better for PVP unless your level is so high that you have enough stats to compensate. Rifles are also eat ammo slower and in the inner city rifles make less noise because pistols fire more rounds.

VSS Vintorez, Rebellion, Alpha Bull, Corpse Shooter, Corpse Piercer
When comparing these high end weapons, all of them have the same firing speed except the the CP. Therefore accuracy and cost are greater factors. The one thing that separates the AB from the rest of the weapons listed is its very small ammo capacity. If any of these weapons is possible, the AB may not be a worthy choice unless you have high reloading. Aside from that, it comes down to personal preference. The 475 Magnum may also be considered but it fires 2 rounds per second and needs the 88 crit build. It's not as efficient as the CS and if you have enough to buy a Magnum it might be a good idea to save it and invest in the CS. Not only is it more bullet efficient but it's also a LE item and its value will increase over time.
To be continued.
