I am anxious to try out the upcoming new physics which will be added to the game. Finally, I can have my light tanks fly off cliffs to gain access to enemy flanks and have my tank destroyer push light tanks off cliffs.

Here are my stats after a night of fragging:


Scrapped the vehicles who aren't giving me enough wins to the next tier. Thinking of scrapping the M3 Stuart in favor of a Tank Destroyer, perhaps a tier 4 or 5. Keeping the T57 since it doubles as a SPG and a TD, with good rate of fire.

Ever since the update 0.8.0, I will only play the Tank Destroyers, and Self Propelled Guns (SPG) on the US server.

Main reason is the high latency I am experiencing rendering the game unplayable to use mobile assault gameplay style. So don't get upset to see me camping in the background laying support fire.

I haven't update my SEA client yet since I am focusing on getting a decent SPG tank on US server.

Some tips for the new physics system:
1. Driving in water, if deep enough, will drown your crew. You have 5 seconds to get out.
2. Driving too fast allows you to skid your tank sideways as you make a turn. Caution must be taken on cliffs and lakes.
3. It is possible to to make a quick getaway by dropping down cliffs. Just have your tank position on an angle and drive slowly down the cliff. Stop your tank when it starts to slide and you can suffer minimal to no damage when you hit the bottom.
4. You can save a friendly who had its tracks blown up by pushing it into cover. Your tank have to be bigger.
5. You can push a dead tank as a mobile shield by reversing and ramming it. Just don't go too fast as that will damage your tank.
6. Jumping off cliffs is fun. It would be more fun if you land on an enemy tank.
7. Never ram a tank that have at least 70% health. You're wasting your own health and chance to get better score in the game.

Gameplay tactics:
1. Sandwiching a tank destroyer and spg with a buddy is a good way to avoid them from turning to shoot you.
2. Remember, SPG is also a tank destroyer since you have a big gun. Don't be afraid to shoot tanks coming towards you.
3. If you are the weakest tank. Sit back and wait for an opening on enemy flanks to hunt their spg. You can also do passive scouting by getting to a good spot and park your tank there quietly.
4. If you can't hurt them, distract them. A good distraction can win you the game.
5. Explosive shells are capable of doing what we call a 'drop shot'. It means that your shells can drop over cover. Practise that and you can hurt anyone hiding under low cover.
6. Learn to retreat when situation doesn't look good. A smart tanker is better than a suicidal one, even if you lose the match.
7. Light tanks must always carry a repair kit. A tracked light tank is a dead one.
8. If you are playing a German tank, always have a fire extinguisher ready. You get the idea why as you play along.
9. If friendlies are not covering all flanks, your best bet to win the game is to go cap a flag ASAP. It will at least distract some enemy force to come get you allowing the main group to push up.
10. As heavy tank, it is your job to intimidate and spearhead an attack. Sitting back at base or behind friendlies will not help the team.

Other tips:
1. Holding CTRL brings out your mouse cursor.
2. Right-clicking on a player name in the match list brings out options.
3. If you want to complain about a player for a reason, right-click the player's name on the list and select Complain.
4. Buying the 100,000 credits camo is better than the fancy colourful pattern one. You can have it forever, it gives 25% bonus, and detachable to have another tank use it.
5. When picking skills for a crew, getting then to learn camo is better if you like to hide and shoot.
6. Training crew to 100% is worth the effort. When retraining to a new tank of same class, they only lose 10% exp for the regiment training, and lose only 15% exp for the basic training.
7. If your crew have learned secondary skills before, you can make them unlearn the skills for a bonus to exp to add to primary skill. This is a trick to get your crew to 100% after retraining without spending gold. It is legal, don't worry.
8. Having a crew learn Sixth sense is a good idea for those who like to hide.

Sometimes you get thrown into a high tier battle with your vehicle being the lowest tier.

Here are a few advices I can give you which could earn you a decent score despite the odds:

1. Don't fight in the front lines. Most of the big tanks out there is going to one shot you to oblivion. Stay away from the main battle.
   
2. Your guns is going to be mostly useless due to the low penetration value despite loaded with the greater HE-shells. A fact about using HE shells is to tactically aim for vehicle modules, but higher tier tanks have increased damage resistance even if you got a direct hit. Don't fight a battle where you can't win.
   
3. Speed and stealth. Unlike higher tier tanks, you have the fastest tank. Use that to sneak behind lines for a cap, spot enemies, or hunt down SPGs (a tank type that have the lowest armour).
   
4. Your vehicle is most likely the smallest enabling you to easily hide in cover. You can spot passively by parking your tank on a good vantage point and spot enemies. If you are driving a light tank, you have the best radio and longest view range.
   
5. If you are a skilled fast driver, try to turn enemy attention away from your main force by zipping around dodging fire. Attempt a daring escape by running up a steep hill and slowly slide down the edge to evade. This will also keep the enemy being spotted long enough for your friendly SPG(s) to rain shells upon them.
   
6. If things got too hairy while attempting the above, run back to your allies and get ready to make a break through any exposed enemy flank.

As a bonus, a little tip o how to use HE-shells effectively and how to effectively track an enemy tank:
HE-shells have very low penetration on armour. So you need to punch a hole to allow the HE-shells take full effect by using AP shells. If you look closely at wounded enemy tanks, they have holes on parts on their armour. Fire your HE-shells into that hole and watch as the enemy tank suffer a lot of damage.

To bust an enemy tank's track, aim for the large track wheel located at the front or rear of a set of track wheels. With enough damage done it, the tank will have its track blown off rendering it immobilised. Heavier tanks require more shots to damage the track wheel.

Anyone tried the new British tanks for 8.1 patch?

I am wondering how the lower tiers perform before deciding on getting one.

They're pretty good, but the Matildas line is slooow.
The first Brit tank is a campers best vehicle.
Haven't tried the other Brit line, so I can't really comment on those.
