hello everyone im XxDogWolfxX! Cessy's most loyal poster and helper on the WOTN site ( a good one too )
im in the process of trying to improve and upgrade the site by learning how to use the forumotion...but that's not working how i expected to work ( in short im horrible at this ) but cessy recommend that i get some tips on building a proper site from you guys so if anyone can give me some instructions on building the portal, editing the display itself, and other misc i would much appreciated it

That side scrolling text stuff can be accessed and edited here:
Admin Panel > General > Messages & e-mails > Announcements
1. Make sure it is activated.
2. Set where it is to be displayed on your forum.
3. Set how is should be scrolled (up, down, left, right)
4. The rest are self-explanatory.
5. Add your first message on the Announcement section by clicking the (+) sign.
To edit your forum looks:
1. Either do it with a template here: [Only admins are allowed to see this link]
or
Edit it manually here: Display > Pictures & Colors > Pics Management > Simple or Advanced Mode
- Simple mode gives you basic forum editing options.
- Advanced mode gives you more options but needs a lot of tweaking to get the hang of it.
2. Edit the colors of your forum here: Display > Pictures & Colors > Colors
- This requires a lot of experimenting and tweaking to get the right look for your forum.
- Trial and error is the best way to learn.
- CSS is how you really customise your forum looks. It's all coded in Cascading Style Sheet (CSS).
- Don't touch CSS unless you know what you're doing.
- If you still want to poke it, copy the code and save it on your computer as backup. If stuff goes wrong, you can restore the forum back.
3. Advanced stuff on this forum is done either with HTML or JavaScript coding.
You can learn em' here: [Only admins are allowed to see this link]
Example code for our Orbital Troop Locator:
- Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://jj.revolvermaps.com/r.js"></script><script type="text/javascript">rm_f1st('0','220','true','false','000000','9f4ob9zify3','true','ff0000');</script><noscript><applet codebase="http://rj.revolvermaps.com/j" code="core.RE" width="220" height="220" archive="g.jar"><param name="cabbase" value="g.cab" /><param name="r" value="true" /><param name="n" value="false" /><param name="i" value="9f4ob9zify3" /><param name="m" value="0" /><param name="s" value="220" /><param name="c" value="ff0000" /><param name="v" value="true" /><param name="b" value="000000" /><param name="rfc" value="true" /></applet></noscript>
4. Just a suggestion, you can start tweaking your forum Portal and perhaps redesign it.
- Access it here: Admin Panel > Modules > Portal & Widgets > Portal Management
- Make sure it is activated.
- Edit the space between widgets. (Calculation done in pixels)
- If you don't want to edit the current Portal, just 'Duplicate' it. Set the one you want to edit by clicking 'Define default page'.
- To edit the Portal click 'Structure'.
- Edit the Portal name to something that you can identify as the main page.
- Tweak the column sizes till you are happy with it.
- Those boxes in the Portal can be dragged around to the columns you have set.
- The boxes are called Widgets which are small applications that you see on our Portal. e.g: Clock, calendar, etc.
- There are some pre-made (Existing) Widgets to get you started.
- Personal widgets are the ones you made yourself. e.g: Orbital Troop Locator, Web links, Game List, etc.
- To add new widgets scroll further down till you see the option called 'Addition of personal/existing widgets'.
- To delete widgets on the Portal. Drag and drop em' from the portal into a basket. Don't worry the widgets aren't permanently deleted.
- Make sure to 'Save' once you've finished.

w3schools.com
Just copy and paste that link.

All the games are linked to this forum's other portal. You can have a look at the code:
- Code:
<p>
<a href=http://unscdf.forumotion.com/?pid=3><img src="http://www.gameslist.com/thumb/15/The-Last-Stand-Union-City.jpg"></img></br><b><font size="2" color="orange">Last Stand: Union City</b></font></a>
</p>
<br>
<p>
<a href=http://unscdf.forumotion.com/?pid=4><img src="http://www.gameslist.com/thumb/13/This-Bunny-Kills.jpg"></img></br><b><font size="2" color="orange">This Bunny Kills</b></font></a>
</p>
<br>
<p>
<a href=http://unscdf.forumotion.com/?pid=5><img src="http://www.gameslist.com/thumb/15/Dude-And-Zombies.jpg"></img></br><b><font size="2" color="orange">Dude and Zombies</b></font></a>
</p>
<br>
<p>
<a href=http://unscdf.forumotion.com/?pid=6><img src="http://games.mochiads.com/c/g/sas-zombie-assault-3_v663685/_thumb_100x100.jpg"></img></br><b><font size="2" color="orange">SAS: Zombie Assault 3</b></font></a>
</p>
The following is a code where I embed the game to a widget:
- Code:
<param name="movie" value="http://armorgames.com/files/games/the-last-stand-union-12009.swf">
<embed src="http://armorgames.com/files/games/the-last-stand-union-12009.swf" width="860" height="600">
</embed>
</object>

Re: web page help
I can't show you that without permission. Sorry.
To embed games to a portal, just 'Create a widget' and fill in the codes.
Then, add the created widget to the portal.

Re: web page help
Dices can be activated by visiting the forum management Modules:
Admin Panel > Modules > Roleplay Game > Dices Roll
Make sure it is activated. You can configure and add dices there.
Should be easy for you to figure out.
